How does ORFoodEx work?
ORFoodEx is easy to use. No software to download, no installation nor setup fees.
- Producers list available products at no charge.
- Producers set and maintain their own pricing and manage the available inventory in our system.
- Buyers become ORFoodEx members for a nominal monthly fee (waived for six months of beta program) to view the listings, place orders and purchase goods.
- ORFoodEx charges for order delivery based upon travel and dock time, quoted automatically at the time of the purchase.
- ORFoodEx uses an online map engine similar to Google Maps to calculate overall drive times. The platform displays this in real time based upon the location of the buyer, the location of the product, and the quantity of items purchased at the time of sale.
Producers are NOT required to sell items through our website in order to use our delivery, storage, or expediting services.

How is ORFoodEx's delivery pricing different?
ORFoodEx adds no subjective fees and charges no margin on your delivery. ORFoodEx has bench-marked our “food mile” prices at roughly half the published USDA rate, implying that we are 50% less expensive than producers delivering directly themselves.
We strive to break down the barriers between the regional food producers and the buyers, allowing our producers to better compete with commodity prices.
What is the ORFoodEx definition of a Pallet?
ORFoodEx defines a pallet as being a 48” x 40” unit not to exceed 1800 lbs or 48" in height. We will accept overheight (up to 72") and overweight (up to 2700 lbs) pallets, but will calculate billing based on our pallet definition.
